Nests

I came to build nests because I was fascinated with creating three-dimensional forms. Upon hearing that bird populations have decreased by 70 percent since the 1970’s, a broader meaning came in to full view for making nests. Nests feel like a very personal quest to quell anxiety around loss of wildlife and habitats. I work with Nest as both a metaphor to restore and preserve our sense of place within ourselves as well as a call to action to return to a place of balance through the reparation and rehabilitation of life and the natural landscape. I work with the primary colors in the color wheel because they carry the elements from which all other colors are created.
